Dynamo bring in four from NC State
Club adds two each from Furman, Campbell

GREENSBORO, NC -- The defending PDL Regular Season Champion Carolina Dynamo announced the signing of another four players for the 2007 Season that opens up at home on Saturday May 12. With the addition of Hugh Cronin, El Hadji Cisse, Jorge Mora and Alan Sanchez the Dynamo roster is up to 14 players.

Returning from NC State for his third season is Hugh Cronin.

“Hugh has been a mainstay in the back for us over the past three seasons, with his knowledge of the league and work ethic, Hugh is expected to anchor the back line for the Dynamo this season,” said Dynamo GM Scott Zapko. “Adding players such as Cisse, Mora and Sanchez our attacking flare should be back again this season after having so many guys selected by MLS during the offseason.”

#4 Hugh Cronin
Position: Defender
College/Year: NC State/Senior
Hometown: Winston-Salem, NC
High School/Club: Mt. Tabor H.S./Greensboro Soccer Club

Cronin rejoins the Dynamo for his third season. During his two previous seasons with the Dynamo he has started 35 games in the back, scoring one goal with one assist. In 2005, Cronin was the only Dynamo player to start and appear in every match for the Dynamo. Over the past two seasons for NC State, he started all 35 matches in the back scoring two goals while assisting on another four. At Mt Tabor, Cronin was named All-American, was a three-time All-State Player, while being named NC Player of the Year twice. Cronin has played on ODP squads since 1999, winning the 2002 National Championship as part of the 2002 NC ODP Team.

#8 El Hadji Cisse
Position: Forward
College/Year: NC State/Senior
Hometown: New York, N.Y.
High School/Club: LaSalle Academy/N.Y. Freedoms

Cisse joins the Dynamo for his first season having previously played in the PDL with Raleigh. In his first three seasons with the Wolfpack, Cisse has started all 47 matches he has appeared in scoring 20 goals while assisting on another seven. Cisse has been NC State’s leading point getter the past two seasons and was named to the ACC-All Tournament team in 2006. Originally from the Ivory Coast, Cisse was selected for the U-17 National Team. Cisse’s club team the NY Freedoms were state champions 2001-2004, national champions in 2002 and regional champions in 2003.

#14 Jorge Mora
Position: Midfielder
College/Year: NC State/Sophomore
Hometown: Queens, NY
High School/Club: Archbishop Molloy H.S. /BW Gottschee

Mora joins the Dynamo for his first season. In his freshman season at NC State, he started all 17 matches netting one goal with seven assists. At Archbishop Molloy High, Mora was the 2004 & 2005 Newsday Player of the Year, and earned 2004 NSCAA/Adidas All-America honors. Mora was a member of the New York State ODP team for five years, and his Super Y-League team were the Metro Region Champs in 2004. He captained the nationally ranked BW Gottschee club team for four years.

#15 Alan Sanchez
Position: Midfielder
College/Year: NC State/Sophomore
Hometown: Miami, FL
High School/Club: Felix Varela H.S./West Kendall United

Sanchez, a freshman from NC State, joins the Dynamo for his first season. He started all 16 matches he appeared in, leading NC State in scoring with eight goals while assisting on one other. Sanchez was named to the 2006 All-ACC 2nd Team and 2006 ACC All-Freshman Team for his goal scoring ability. While at Felix Varela High, he was named 1st Team All-Dade County. Sanchez was on the Florida State ODP Team in 2001 & 2004, and was selected to the Southeast region Super Y-League U-16 ODP Team. Sanchez was a State Cup Champion with West Kendall in 2005, while being selected to participate in the Adidas Elite Soccer Program that same year.

The defending PDL Regular Season Champions, Carolina Dynamo announced the signing of another four players, two each from Furman and Campbell, for the 2007 Season that opens up at home on Saturday May 12.  

“Dom and Shea out of Furman are tremendous attacking players, which will again help fill the void with all of the players drafted by MLS.  Jata will no doubt make an impact in the midfield for the Dynamo, while Johnson is expected to backup Edwards in the net,” said Dynamo General Manager Scott Zapko 

#6 Dominic Cianciarulo
Position: Midfielder
College/Year: Furman/Senior
Hometown: Deland, FL
High School/Club: Deland H.S. /FC America

Cianciarulo joins the Dynamo for his first season, after being named to the All-Southern Conference 1st Team the past two seasons at Furman.  During his three seasons so far at Furman he has started 50 of 55 matches, scoring 10 goals while assisting on another nine.  At Deland High, Cianciarulo was named class 6A All-State honors and Volusia/Flager County Player-of-the-Year accolades, along with being a three-time All-District selection after scoring 78 goals and assisting on another 42.  Cianciarulo was also a member of the Florida State ODP Team while playing club soccer with FC America.

#10 Shea Salinas
Position: Forward  
College/Year: Furman/Senior
Hometown: Grapevine, TX
High School/Club: Grapevine H.S./Solar ‘86

Salinas joins the Dynamo for his first season after being named to the Southern Conference 1st Team and NSCAA/Adidas All-South Region 3rd Team this past year.  During his first three seasons at Furman, he has started 39 of 54 matches recording nine goals, 12 assists for a total of 56 points.  Salinas led Grapevine H.S to three bi-district championships in four seasons, and earned District MVP honors as Senior after leading his team in both goals and assists. Salinas played club soccer for Solar’86 and led them to a State Cup Championship with 17 goals.

#9 Richard Jata
Position: Midfielder 
College/Year: Campbell/Junior (Transfer from Furman)
Hometown: Port Richey, FL
High School/Club: Ridgewood H.S./Clearwater Chargers

Jata joins the Dynamo for his first season after transferring to Campbell from Furman in the spring of 2006.  His freshman season at Furman, Jata started 13 of 17 games, netted four goals and assisted on another three while leading the team in scoring.  This past season at Campbell, Jata started 18 of 19 matches, scored seven goals assisted on another seven for a total of 21 points.  Jata was awarded NSCAA All-South Region 2nd Team, NCCSIA All-State Team and the Atlantic Sun Conference 1st Team for his efforts.  In high school Jata was named 2003-2004 Sunshine Athletic Conference Player of the Year, and Tampa Tribune Pasco County Player of the Year.  Jata was the youngest player on IMG’s (Bradenton) PDL team as a sophomore, and scored 35 goals and totaled 19 assists in his two seasons at IMG.  Jata trained with the U.S. U-17 National Team, and was a member of the Florida State and Region III ODP Teams.

#23 Aaron Johnson
Position: Goalkeeper
College/Year: Campbell/Junior 
Hometown: St. Charles, MO
High School/Club: Christian Brothers H.S./Scott Gallagher

Johnson joins the Dynamo for his first season.  This past year at Campbell, he started 17 of the 18 matches he appeared in with a 1.29 goals against average earning 1st Team All-Atlantic Sun Conference 1st Team honors.  As a Freshman Johnson shared A-Sun Defensive Player of the Year honors and was name 2nd Team All-Conference and to the All-Freshman Team, with a 0.98 GAA.  Playing for the Scott Gallagher Soccer Club, he led his team to the 2003 US Club Soccer National Championship and 2004 USYSA National Title.  Johnson was a member of the Missouri State ODP Team since 2001 and a member of the Region II Team since 2004.
