VALENCIA, CA – As preparations continue for the 2009 MLS season, Chivas USA will face the Ventura County Fusion of United Soccer Leagues’ Premier Development League this Sunday in a benefit match for the Michael Hoefflin Foundation.

The match takes place this Sunday, March 1, at 5:00 p.m. in Cougar Stadium at the College of the Canyons in Valencia, California. All proceeds from the game go to the non-profit Michael Hoefflin Foundation, which provides financial and emotional support to children and their families facing childhood cancer in Santa Clarita and the surrounding area.

Tickets, which cost $20 for adults and $15 for children, are on sale now, and are also available is a special Family Pack, which includes two adult tickets and two youth tickets for just $40. The Fusion finished the 2008 regular season with a record of 8-5-3, a third-place finish in the PDL’s Southwest Division. So far this season the Fusion have downed GAIS of Gothenburg, Sweden 1-0 on Monday, February 16 and played to a 0-0 draw with Real Salt Lake on Sunday, February 8. In their only loss of the very early preseason, the Fusion fell 6-1 to USL-First-Division-side-turned-MLS-club, Sounders FC on Wednesday, February 11.
