Heat Return Seven
Ibarra, Galvan, Ordaz, Quiñones, Mulamba, Cooper and Browne back for another season

LAREDO, TX - The Laredo Heat Soccer Club has just announced the signing of seven players that have been instrumental in their success over the past two seasons.

The seven players inking their names to play for the Heat in 2009 are playmakers Juan de Dios Ibarra and Dany Galvan, defensive stopper Carlos Ordaz; left back Raul Quiñones, mid field specialist Greg Mulamba, net minder and 2007 USL PDL Finals MVP Ryan Cooper and second year player, Forward Charles “Theo” Browne.

Greg Mulamba and Raul Quiñones are both products of Coach Claudio Arias and his program at Texas A&M International University. Quiñones is also a local player that played his high school soccer at Nixon.

“This is an exciting time for the organization, the preparation and the expectation of a new season always gets me fired up," said Heat Head Coach Israel Collazo.

“We just signed seven players that I strongly believe I can start building around," added Collazo. "A great group of individuals that have been with me for three years and that know what is expected of them day in and day out. This core group will be instrumental in the success of the Heat, both on and off the field and their leadership will guide us from now until the end of the PDL season.”

“From the tryouts two weeks ago, the coaching staff and myself were able to find talent with experience and some youthful speed that is needed to compete in the PDL," said Collazo. "Most importantly, individuals that will gel well with this group. These players will be announced once registered with the league."
