GREENSBORO, NC -- The Reading Rage used a stifling defensive effort and goals by Aaron Wheeler and Evans Frimpong to propel them to a convincing 3-1 victory over the visiting Carolina Dynamo at Don Thomas Stadium Saturday night.

The Rage started the scoring fast with a goal in the 11th minute by Aaron Wheeler (assist Frimpong). Frimpong continued his great play with a goal of his own in the 25th minute.
Carolina finally responded midway through the second half on a goal by Williams Sheanon (assist Loyd) in the 56th minute.
The Rage’s defense never let the game come as close as the score may have indicated. Goalkeeper Jeremy Vuolvo made key stops and the Dynamo were kept off the board the rest of the match.
Aaron Wheeler finished off the scoring in the 88th minute (unassisted) when he punched home a deflected shot and put the dagger in the heart of the Dynamo faithful.
The game was staged around the Rage’s annual Cancer Awareness night. Players wore pink limited-edition game jerseys, which were auctioned off after the game. The money from that auction, and half of all money raised from ticket sales were donated to various cancer charities. Nearly $2,000 was raised in the name of fighting cancer.
The Rage’s next home game will be Sunday at 6pm at Exeter’s Don Thomas Stadium with the annual Faith and Family night.
