Rough Riders return home on Saturday

PROVIDENCE, RI - The Long Island Rough Riders men’s team defeated the Rhode Island Stingrays tonight 3-1 to maintain their Northeast Division lead to six points over the Ocean City Barons. Goals by Gary Flood, Ben Arikian, and Tadeu Terra paved the way for the first-place Rough Riders.

The victory extends the Rough Riders win streak to six games and gives them 24 points on the season, the most in the United Soccer League’s Premier Developmental League through Saturday night.

On Sunday afternoon the men will travel west for a second meeting with the New Jersey Rangers in the past week. Last Saturday night at Cy Donnelly Stadium, the Rough Riders defeated New Jersey 2-0.

The Rough Riders men and women will return home on Saturday, June 20th for their next doubleheader at Cy Donnelly Stadium located at St. Anthony’s High School in South Huntington, N.Y. The women will host the Connecticut Passion at 5PM and the men will face off with the Ottawa Fury at 7:30PM. American Challenge will be giving out 200 sack packs to fans in attendance and raffling off soccer balls throughout the night. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Rough Riders at (516) 622-3900.
