CLINTON, MS -- For the third time this season, Mississippi Brilla and the New Orleans Jesters proved to be two evenly matched teams. The Fourth of July crowd of 918 witnessed a contest at Clinton’s Arrow Field that ended in a 0-0 draw.

Both teams remain in good shape to earn one of the three division playoff spots. Mississippi Brilla moves to 7-1-5 on the season and remains in second place with 26 points.

New Orleans remains undefeated with the tie, staying in third place with a 4-0-9 record (21 points). Bradenton sits at the top of the Southeast Division table with 28 points.

“This was another battle between two very good teams in our division,” said Rusty Bryant, Brilla President and General Manager. “Three ties shows you just how evenly matched our teams are.”

While the match was back and forth throughout the evening, New Orleans finished with more chances on goal. The Jesters earned twelve shots to Mississippi’s seven. Brilla’s Josh Pantazelos and the Jesters’ Steve Fabian were both able to keep a clean sheet in the goal.

With only three matches remaining for each team, both sides have their sights on finishing strong and earning a coveted playoff spot. Should the two teams finish in second and third place respectively at the end of the regular season, they will face each other for a fourth time in the first round of the playoffs.

Mississippi travels to face Atlanta and Nashville next weekend before ending the season with a July 18 home contest against Central Florida.
