KALAMAZOO, MI - After starting the season with an 11 match unbeaten streak, Forest City London lost their third game in a row Thursday night 1-0 to the Kalamazoo Outrage, knocking the first-year London squad to third place in the Great Lakes Division.

In their previous meeting, London beat Kalamazoo 5-0 in front of 1,300 fans at the German Canadian Club.

Thursday night, Kalamzoo striker Dominic Barone put the Outrage ahead on 16 minutes.

Late in the match Forest City thought they had equalized in the dying seconds through Todd Rutledge only to have the  last second strike called back on an offsides call.

With only the top three teams in each Premier Development League divisions being granted passage to the playoffs, it’s important FC London finishes the season strong to ensure a playoff berth.

The expansion club will now face a dogfight from long-time PDL power Michigan Bucks for the final playoff spot in the difficult Great Lakes Division. Normally qualified for the playoffs by this point in the season, the 2006 PDL Champion Bucks have stumbled this season and have a game in hand over FC London.

To ensure playoff qualification, FC London needs to win both of their remaining games or hope Michigan drops points in their remaining three matches.  The two teams clash on Friday, July 17, a match which could dictate who clinches a Great Lakes Division berth.

FC LONDON’s next home game will be this Sunday, July 12 against the Fort Wayne Fever. Kickoff is 3:30 PM at TD Waterhouse Stadium.
