USL News Release
Thursday, July 30, 2009
TAMPA, FL -- The 2009 Premier Development League All-Conference teams were announced Thursday by the United Soccer Leagues. Voted on by team general managers and coaches, the All-Conference teams honor 44 of the 68-team league’s top players.

Five of the honorees return from the 2008 All-Conference Teams: Dwyane Demmin (Mississippi), Zak Boggs (Bradenton), Will Beague (Ottawa), Adam Gazda (Reading) and Mark Lee (Kitsap). Showing their longevity, Boggs and Demmin are the only players named for the third straight year.
Among the eight remaining playoff squads, 10 players feature in the 44 All-Conference spots.
Division Champions, Laredo Heat and Carolina Dynamo each placed three players on their respective conference teams -- the most among all teams in the Premier Development League.
In all, 31 clubs had players selected to the 2009 All-Conference teams.
The 2009 PDL Championship Playoffs resume at the quarterfinal stage this Friday, July 31 with doubleheaders in Des Moines, Iowa and Laredo, Texas.
In Des Moines, the Chicago Fire take on the Ocean City Barons at 6:00 PM ET ahead of the host Menace entertaining the upstart Cary Clarets at 8:30 PM ET.
In Texas, the Ventura County Fusion face Kitsap Pumas at 6:30 PM ET before the Bradenton Academics look to ruin the Heat’s bid for a fourth straight return to the PDL title game at 9:00 PM ET.
