Franciosa Named Phantoms Coach

HAMPSTEAD, NH – The USL Premier Development League (PDL) New Hampshire Phantoms are pleased to announce the appointment of Stefano Franciosa as Head Coach.

Franciosa is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Salem State College with a B.S. in Sports Fitness and Leisure with a concentration in Coaching.

“With over 10 years of experience coaching various men’s teams, there is no doubt in my mind Stefano will bring professionalism, enthusiasm and a winning attitude to our team,” Phantoms General Manager Jim DeDeus said.

Franciosa’s career highlights include: a record setting season for number of wins with Newbury College since the school became a four-year institution. He has assisted in the selection and training of elite players for the U.S. Soccer Federation/Region I. Franciosa also spent five years as the Head Coach at Endicott College.

“I am looking forward to the challenging aspects of being the Head Coach of this great team while continuing on with the development and training that the Phantoms are already accustomed to,” Franciosa said. “I am also looking forward to an exciting and successful season.”

Most recently,Franciosa served as an Assistant Coach at Bentley College and at Boston College. He holds a USSF “A” License as well as a Premiere License from NSCAA.

The Phantoms , a mainstay in the USL since 1996, will call Southern New Hampshire University home for the 2010 season. The club’s home-opener is set for Saturday, May 8th. Kickoff is set for 7:30
