PDL Team of the Week
Brilla's Aduny Player of the Week

USL New Release

June 23, 2010

United Soccer Leagues announced the PDL Team of the Week today, with Moses Aduny of the Mississippi Brilla being named the Player of the Week. The Brilla forward was on a tear last week, propelling the Brilla attack. Aduny scored two goals and assisted on another against Atlanta on Friday, then scored two more in a win against Nashville on Sunday.

"Moses has been a great addition to the team,” Brilla coach Dave Dixon said. “Not only is he dangerous by himself, but he’s very unselfish and sets up others to score. I think he has a very bright future in soccer."

Aduny was not the only PDL player on a scoring tear last week, as four other Team of the Week members found the net multiple times. Miguel Ibarra of Lancaster scored a hat trick to propel the Rattlers. Brandon Swartzendruber also scored three times to help Thunder Bay to a win. Kevon Harris of Hampton Roads tacked on two goals to earn a draw with Central Jersey. Joe Tait of the Baton Rouge Capitals not only scored twice last week, but each goal was a game winner in their two matches against rival New Orleans.

Four other players scored game-winning goals last week. Jason Gorski’s goal won the match for the New Jersey Rangers against Garden State rival Ironbound Express. Sam DeMello scored the game winner for Albany to down visiting New Hampshire, and Michael Kennedy of MPS Portland scored the only goal of the match against Long Island. Danny Hernandez’s effort was just as dramatic, as his goal gave New Hampshire an extra-time win against Westchester.

There was also a solid defensive effort from Joel Smith last week, who led Orange County to consecutive road clean sheets. Between the posts, Ft. Lauderdale’s Joerg Stadelmann made huge saves and kept a clean sheet to earn a win against intrastate rival Bradenton.
