MASPETH, N.Y. – The Brooklyn Knights and filmmaker Sebastian Podesta are teaming up to create a cinéma vérité documentary during the 2012 season entitled, “Going Pro: American Soccer,” in an attempt to capture the rigors endured by amateur players trying to establish themselves as premier contenders to reach the professional level.
Podesta, the Founder/Director of Wonder Workshop Films and a graduate of the prestigious NYU Tisch School of the Arts, is eager to begin production on the picture, which will mark his first foray into full-length feature films. As an avid soccer fan both locally and globally, Podesta understands the marketability of the game and feels that it is only a matter of time before it is a primetime favorite among sport enthusiasts.
Both the Brooklyn Knights and Podesta agree that this project will be highly advantageous for both parties, as the Knights continue their grassroots rebranding endeavors and Podesta with the hopes of producing a quality documentary to help further promote soccer in America.
