ORLANDO, FL -- Ajax Prospects announced the signing of Luis Aguilar and Matt Languis, two members of the University of San Francisco (USF) Dons Men’s Soccer Team, to the 2005 Premier Development League (PDL) roster. Both players served key roles on the 2004 West Coast Conference (WCC) championship team.
“We’re looking forward to having Luis and Matt on our squad this summer,” stated Greg Petersen, head coach and general manager of the Ajax Prospects. “Both players have qualities that make them a fit for Ajax.”
Aguilar, a junior from La Miranda, Calf., transferred to the Dons after completing two seasons at Rio Hondo Community College where he was a member of the 2002 NSCAA/Adidas Men’s Junior College Division III All-America Team. In 2004, after his first season at USF, Aguilar was named to the all-WCC second team.
Languis, a sophomore from Irvine, Calf., finished the 2004 season as sixth in assists in the WCC and second in assists for the Dons. In 2003, as a freshman he received honors including honorable mention all-WCC and was the team’s leading scorer. Before playing for the Dons, Languis spent seven years playing for the Irvine Strikers Club during which time the club won four state championships and one national title. Languis, captain of his high school squad, was selected to the first team all-CIF (California Interscholastic Federation) as a senior and second team as a junior.
