CLINTON, MS -- Mississippi Brilla FC ushers in its second season in the USL’s Premier Development League with a Friday evening contest against the Laredo Heat, the 2007 PDL Champions. The match is scheduled for Friday, May 9 at 7:00 PM at Freedom Ridge Park’s M&F Bank Stadium in Ridgeland, MS.
“We are excited about opening our season at a different location,” said Scott Taylor, Director of Operations. “It should give a different crowd the opportunity to experience the highest level of soccer in Mississippi. We are certain that the fans will want to be a part of the entire season after watching the first match.”
The remaining seven home matches will be played at Longabaugh Field on the campus of Mississippi College in Clinton, MS.
M&F Bank Opening Night will feature the return of local star Craig Demmin to Mississippi. Craig is a former Jackson resident who went on to play in the MLS and USL-1. Craig will team up with 2007 All-League selection and younger brother, Dwyane Demmin, as Mississippi Brilla looks to get off to a fast start in the Mid-South Division.
Tickets to the opening match may be purchased online, at the gate, or at M&F Bank branches in Clinton, Madison, and Ridgeland. All tickets are $7, and children 7 and under will receive free admission all season. As part of M&F Bank Opening Night, the first 500 attendees will receive a free 2008 Schedule Magnet.
