OTTAWA, ON – The Ottawa Fury are pleased to announce the signing of four new players to their 2008 PDL squad. Forwards Tiago Dalboni and Tokelo Gugushe, who play together at Merrimack College, will provide fresh attacking options for Fury PDL coach Stephen O’Kane, while midfielder Matthew Pecheone and defender Brandon Morse arrive from Northeast-10 conference rivals Le Moyne College.

"I am thrilled to announce the signing of these four players,” commented Fury Head Coach Stephen O’Kane. “Both Tiago and Pecheone add creativity, flair and pace to our team. They are very exciting offensive weapons. Tokelo and Morse are two powerful, combative and talented players who are great additions, especially in the physically demanding New England Division.”

Tiago Dalboni, from Medford, Massachusetts, is a junior at Merrimack College, where he has proven himself to be a lethal finisher and consistent goal-scorer. Dalboni led the Warriors this past year in all offensive categories with 11 goals and nine assists. He is a usual suspect on all-star team lists, with 2007 being no different as he was named to the Division II NSCAA All-New England first-team. In addition to that accolade, Dalboni has been a Division II NSCAA All-New England first-team choice in 2006, second-team choice in 2005 and an all-conference selection (Northeast 10) in each of his three collegiate years.

Tokelo Gugushe, is a senior at Merrimack College. Gugushe, from Stoughton, Massachusetts, was second in all offensive categories for the Warriors in 2007 with seven goals and four assists, behind only fellow Fury teammate Tiago Dalboni. During the past season, Gugushe proved he can deliver for his team under pressure, leading the Warriors in game-winning goals with four. In 2005 he was named third-team All-Conference and NSCAA Division II third-team All-New England. Gugushe brings to the Fury PDL squad a steady forward presence and a wealth of playing experience, having started every game for Merrimack in the past two seasons.

Matthew Pecheone from New Hartford, N.Y., is currently a junior at Le Moyne College. It will be his first year with the Ottawa Fury PDL but Pecheone brings with him three years of collegiate soccer experience as well as one year of PDL experience with the Albany Admirals in 2007. The PDL familiarity will hopefully serve Pecheone well in his goal-scoring exploits this year as he was third in scoring for Lemoyne in 2007 with five goals and one assist, all from midfield. It was this stat-line as well as his tireless work on the field that rewarded him with a Division II NSCAA second-team All-New England spot.

Brandon Morse is currently a junior at Le Moyne College where he is an integral part of the Dolphins’ defensive core. The Lima, Ohio native was part of a Le Moyne defense which helped to post eight shutouts this past season. In addition to his defensive capabilities, Morse showed he could also produce offensively. He made 16 appearances (13 starts) for Le Moyne in 2007, leading defenders on the team with three goals and three assists. Prior to college, Morse was the Northwest Ohio player of the year in 2004 and 2005 as well as a first-team All-Ohio player in those same years.

The Fury open their 2008 PDL-League campaign with an away game on Saturday, May 31 when they meet the Brooklyn Knights at Aviator Field, kick-off 8:30 PM EST. The Fury’s first home game is on Friday, June 15 when they host the New Hampshire Phantoms at the University of Ottawa Athletic Complex, kick-off at 3:00 PM EST.
