Playing in 19 games for the VCU Rams his sophomore season in 2004, MacDonald scored one goal and recorded 3 assists as a defender. From Kearny, NJ MacDonald now plays for Monmouth University where he achieved Conference Defender of the Year. MacDonald has been a member of the Future since the 2004 season.  In his first year for the Future Hugh started 11 of 13 games and scored 3 goals.  In the 2005 season for the Future MacDonald started all 12 games in which he played.
